1 Million Cups Kalamazoo
Based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation developed 1 Million Cups in 2012—a free program designed to educate, engage and inspire entrepreneurs around the country. Through the power of volunteers, 1 Million Cups has grown to more than 180 communities.
Entrepreneurs, innovators, funders and other interested community members are invited to attend the first Wednesday of each month from 8:00 to 9:00 AM at the WMed Innovation Center, located at 4717 Campus Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. Doors open and coffee pours at 7:30 AM. Each month two early-stage startups present their companies to an audience of mentors, advisers and other entrepreneurs. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session with the audience.
2019 Renaissance Venture Capital: UnDemo Day and Strolling Dinner
Renaissance will be hosting its fifth “UnDemo Day.” The UnDemo event brings together some of Michigan's top startups and technologies for an informal get together with venture capital funds and other Renaissance partners. This year’s event will include the opportunity for investor one-on-one meetings with select startups in the early afternoon, followed by the UnDemo exhibit program starting at 3:00 p.m. Immediately following the UnDemo program, there will be a 4:30 p.m. social hour with beer and wine to continue conversations between startups, Michigan’s entrepreneurial community, venture funds and investors.
The strolling dinner is an opportunity to network with the venture capital community. No presentations, speeches, or pitches; just a night to celebrate the past year, meet with more than 100 venture capital investors from across the country and other Renaissance partners.
